August 19, 2008 - New shows added!
Hey everyone, we just added some new shows, you should check them out. One of the shows we added is Spaghettifest6, its three days of music, 2 nights of camping, and there are over 40 bands playing this year. The show is on Sept. 26th - 28th and presale tickets are $40, this price includes camping and music. This will be our 3rd time playing and all three years have been awesome! We will be playing on Saturday this year, so if you cant take off of work on Friday, you can come down that night or in the morning and you be able to see us play. June 9, 2008 - Rock the Dock is almost here, last chance for presale tickets!
We have a show this Thursday at Fat Tuesday's opening up for our good friends Midnight Spaghetti and the Chocolate G-Strings. This is going to be one awesome show you do not want to miss. March 9, 2008 - Big Show This Weekend!
We have a great show coming up at Iota, in Arlington on Friday March 14th, it is our friends Vitreous' EP release party. These guys are new on the scene and definitely worth checking out. Other bands playing Friday night are Human Room, and Starlit Eyes. The show starts at 9 and there is a $10 cover, which is totally worth it for this line-up, make sure you don't miss this one!
March 8, 2008 - Update on "Your New Best Friend"
Creating our new Full Length CD (Your New Best Friend) has been an exciting and frustrating ride, but the time its taking is just helping to make it the best it can be. Joe has been perfecting the mix while we have Dave Hyland creating the artwork and designing the lay-out. The coolest part is we have mastering master Kevin Blackler (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, Billy Joel, The Raconteurs) at Blackler Mastering Studios working on it as well.
We don't have a definite release date yet, but we are hoping for early summer. We want to make sure we have enough time to put together a ridiculously awesome CD Release Party!!
December 17, 2007 - We placed 1st again at the Bodog Battle of the Bands!
Thats right, we did it again at the Bodog Battle of the Bands, so that means we are moving on to the Semi-Regonal Finals! Hope you all like road trips because the next round is in Philadelphia at the Fillmore. The show is in all ages and you can get your tickets now from us, they are $15. We would like to thank everyone for coming out and helping us make it to the next round, you guys ROCK! Hope to see you all at our next show at T.T. Reynold's next Saturday so we can celebrate our victory!
November 26, 2007 - CD Pre Release Party!
Come to Jaxx this Saturday night for our Pre CD Release Party! We will have "bootleg copys" of our new album for sale for half off ($5). For everyone who buys the bootleg version, we will give you the final version when it comes out early next year for FREE! They will be only for sale at our Jaxx show this Saturday and there are a limited supply of them. Visit www.fofrocks.com/store to buy your tickets to the show, they are $10. Buy them before Wednesday so we will have time to mail them to you. We placed first at the Bodog Battle of the Bands this past Sunday! What does that mean? It means that we have advanced to the next round!!! We will be playing at The Rock and Roll Hotel on Sunday December 16th. August 24, 2007 - Our 100th show!
Alright everyone, we have two great shows this weekend, one of them is our 100th show! The first show is at Mackey's (formerly Jake's) in Old Town Manassas at 9pm this Saturday night. The second show is on Sunday at T.T. Reynold's, our 100th show! This is an all ages evening show, it starts at 6pm and ends around 8:30ish. We will have tickets for sale for our all ages Jaxx show on September 7th. Joining us on stage that day are City Sleeps and Just Like Always. Pre-sale tickets are $12, at the door, its $14. We hope everyone can come out to celebrate with us this weekend!

May 24, 2007 - Throwdown 2007!
We have two shows this weekend, both in Fairfax. The first one is tomorrow at Fat Tuesday's. Joining us at Fat's are our good friends Nawat. Our second show this weekend is on Sunday at Throwdown 2007! We play at 1pm on the T.T. Reynold's stage. Our new album, Lack of Personality, is almost done. We just need to do some finishing touches to it and then get it mastered. We hope to release it sometime in August, we'll keep you updated. We have two shows tomorrow! The first one is at Manassas Presbyterian Church with Timmy Got Taser'd. Music will start at 6pm and this is an ALL AGES show! The Second show of the day is at the Laughing Lizard Lounge in Alexandria. Joining us at the Lizard is our friends Nawat, this show will start around 10ish. We are going into the studio Sunday to finish mixing our new CD, we will have one of our new songs uploaded on our MySpace site by Monday morning! We hope to see you all at one or both of our shows this weekend!

Thanks again for everyone who came out to see us at TT's and Dr. Dremo's, both shows were awesome. Our next shows (that's right, shows) will be on April 28th. The first show will be at Manassas Presbyterian Church (6pm), this will be an ALL AGES show. Band Bio:
Formed in the Fall of 2004, Fistful of Fifties has been rocking the Northern VA, DC and Maryland area with their familiar but unique sound. Their high energy songs have been influenced by 90’s alternative rock bands such as Nirvana, Cake, Staind and the Smashing Pumpkins.
Joe Achtzener (bass), Matt Matis (vocals/guitar), Josh Pearson (drums) and David Saylor (guitar/vocals) combine catchy lyrics, melodic vocals, killer guitar solos, mind blowing bass licks and monster drumming to create what has been deemed “the up-and-coming sound of what has come to be expected in the clubs of Arlington and Fairfax counties” (Burke Connection, November 2006). Having played the metro area consistently for the past two years, Fistful of Fifties have become regulars at such venues as Laughing Lizard Lounge and TT Reynold’s while also gaining recognition as Fire Station 8’s Band of the Month for October 2006 and Cue-la-palooza 2005’s Battle of the Bands winner. Fistful of Fifties have been featured in the Washington Post’s Fairfax Extra and gained local notoriety through air play on Locals Only Radio and a recent spot on DC101’s Local Lix (Clear Channel Broadcasting).
In the summer of 2006, Fistful of Fifties released their first self-titled EP, recorded at Nothing But Noise Studios. Not a band to let their influences put a strong hold on their music, Fistful of Fifties are continuously writing new songs ranging from the occasional softer ballad to hard rock, allowing enough diversity for their on stage antics to reach every type of fan.
